Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This page explains how to ask us to delete information we hold, what happens next, and which records cannot be removed. Deletion is handled by our team on request. There is no automatic self-service deletion button today.
Stop WhatsApp messages right away
If you only want us to stop messaging you, reply STOP to any WhatsApp message from Project Khata. It takes effect immediately, for every account that uses the service, and needs no verification. Reply START if you want messages again.
How to ask for deletion
Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request". Requests are handled by a person, by hand.
What to tell us
- Your full name, and the mobile number and email address on the account (or, if you are a contractor or supplier who was recorded by someone else, the number we messaged you on and the name that appears on the payments).
- The company or workspace name, if you know it.
- What you want deleted: your sign-in account, a whole company workspace (only its owner can ask), or your contact details held as a contractor or supplier.
We will verify who you are before we act on a request. Never send your password; we will not ask for it.
If you are a contractor or supplier
Your details were entered by a customer of ours, the company that pays you. That company decides what to record about its own payments. You can ask us to stop messaging you (STOP, above) and to remove your contact details (phone, WhatsApp number, address, CNIC, photograph) from the record. The payments themselves belong to that company's ledger; see "What we keep" below.
What we can do
- Stop all messages to your number.
- Remove your contact details and photograph from a contractor or supplier record.
- Close a sign-in account, which stops anyone using it.
- For a company workspace, when its owner asks: close it and its access.
What we keep, and why
- Ledger entries. Entries are never edited or deleted, by design, because the ledger exists to be a record nobody can quietly change. A payment you were part of stays in that company's ledger, including the payee name shown on it, the amount and the date.
- Records tied to payments. Payment confirmation records (status, answer, times, message identifiers), audit records of who did what, saved chat drafts with their approvals, usage counts, and proof of consent and of STOP.
- Receipts. Uploaded receipts are kept as evidence of the payment they support.
- Backups. Information removed from the live service remains in the daily backups, which keep the last seven days, until they are replaced.
Some WhatsApp text is already removed automatically: stored message text 30 days after it is processed, and conversation memory after 2 days. The Privacy Policy lists these periods.
What happens next
We will reply to confirm what we received and what we can and cannot remove.
Removing contact details and closing accounts is done by our team by hand. The name shown on past ledger entries is not changed, because those entries cannot be altered.
Other services
Messages you sent through WhatsApp also exist inside WhatsApp and Meta's systems, and a voice note or message sent to OpenAI or Anthropic is handled by them under their own policies. We cannot delete information held by those providers; contact them directly for that.
